On February 26, 2009, EMS China formally introduced Domestic EMS Guarantee Service in an effort to improve its quality of service and meet the various demands of customers. EMS China promises refunding upon delivery failure for standard EMS shipments between 100 cities including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
As an important part of public service, EMS China makes remarkable contributions to the development of national express industry. EMS China is the first express company introducing guarantee service and refunding upon delivery failure for standard domestic shipments. EMS China first introduced Next Morning Delivery Service in Yangtze River Delta in December 2003, and then extended the guarantee service to Bohai Bay Rim, Pearl River Delta, 3 Northeast Provinces and southwest China. What’s more, on July 25, 2005, EMS China, Australia Postal Corporation, Hong Kong Post, Japan Post, Korea Post and United States Postal Service jointly launched International EMS Guarantee Service for outbound EMS items to other five posts. Each post promises to deliver the inbound items from other five posts within guaranteed date and should refund the collected postage to customer for the delayed item due to postal reasons. EMS China will expand the Domestic Guarantee Service to more cities as the market develops.
EMS China now has over 60,000 employees, 30,000 vehicles and 16 aircrafts. EMS service is available in about 2,000 domestic cities and over 200 countries and regions. EMS China announced that from August 1, 2008, EMS Same-day Delivery Service will be introduced between the designated regions of Beijing and Tianjin.
The service currently can only be used for document items. Any document posted before 11 a.m. will be delivered before 6 p.m. of the same day. Door pick-up and posting at designated post offices can be provided for customers who want to use the service. The price for each document is 20 RMB for the first 500 grams with 6 RMB for any additional 500 grams. Besides, a special service charge of 5 RMB will be applied to each item for the guarantee of quality service.
With the utilization of Beijing-Tianjin express train, EMS China is dedicated to offer customers the premium and reliable express service between Beijing and Tianjin.

From August 14, 2008, EMS China started two types of premium Time-certain Services - Next-morning Delivery and Next-day Delivery between Chongqing and other key cities in the southwest region. Currently, the Time-certain Delivery Services include: two-way Next-morning Delivery between Chongqing and Chengdu / Kunming, two-way Next-day Delivery between Chongqing and Guiyang / Qujing / Chuxiong / Gejiu / Dali, and single-way Next-day Delivery from Zunyi to Chongqing. The two services will adopt the same rate of normal EMS: 20 RMB for the first 500 grams and 6 RMB for any additional 500 grams.
With the ongoing network optimization in the southwest, Next-morning Delivery and Next-day Delivery will be expanded to more cities in the region to meet the market demand for quality express services. For the time being, EMS Chongqing branch is planning to open the EMS truck route by use of the freeway between Chongqing and Guizhou Province, which will further reduce the time of transportation and delivery of EMS items along this route.

EMS China have started to introduce the service of EMS Education Express from 19 domestic cities to 17 countries and regions from October 25, 2007. Designed as a premium document express, the service was launched to meet the customer need of mailing large volumes of document materials for the application of overseas universities and schools, and the customers were targeted at school students, service agents of oversea study, training institutions for oversea study, and international communication centers of universities.

EMS China has been consistently seeking to offer excellent worldwide express services and is now solemnly introducing A+ Service to all customers since August 9, 2006. The core concepts of EMS A+ Service are: faster delivery, better and more reliable services, and EMS is the best choice for all customers.
EMS A+ Service 1: optimized distribution network and faster delivery speed.
EMS China has completed the renovation of its nationwide distribution network in July 2006, and the number of national distribution centers has been reduced from 324 to 168, which guarantees the more efficient handling of EMS items and expands the service scope of Next-day Delivery.
With the purchasing of 4 Boeing aircrafts, EMS China recently opened 4 new flight routes of Beijing-Seoul, Korea, Weifang-Shanghai, Shenyang-Shanghai, and Tianjin-Shanghai on the basis of the 13 overnight flight routes. In addition, 10,000 trucks were put into use for pick-up and delivery, which has greatly enhanced the capability of transportation and distribution of EMS China.
EMS China has built up a speedy Next-morning Delivery network covering East China with Changzhou as center in the Yangtze Delta area, set up the Same-day Delivery system with Guangzhou as center in the Pearl River Delta area, and established the Next-morning Delivery networks in areas of Bohai Sea, 3 Northeastern Provinces and Sichuan-Chongqing. More important, EMS China will invest a large sum of money to build the largest Asian EMS distribution center in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.
EMS A+ Service 2: upgraded nationwide information system and real-time delivery feedback.
To improve the quality of information feedback, EMS China has upgraded its nationwide EMS information system, achieving the real-time whole-path tracking & tracing for EMS items. EMS China is the first express provider of implementing nationwide the portable data terminals for pick-up and delivery, and now has realized the wireless transmission for all data information.
Shortly after completing the processes of pick-up, delivery and sorting, EMS China will send the shipment information of EMS items to customers. Also, detailed information can be obtained via EMS Tracking website, SMS or service phone 11185.
EMS A+ Service 3: commitments for better express services.

China’s Olympic champion Liu Xiang broke the men’s 110m hurdles world record with a time of 12.88 seconds at the IAAF Super Grand Prix meeting in Lausanne, July 11, 2006 and then promised there was more to come.
Liu had jointly held the previous world best of 12.91 with Britain’s Colin Jackson. He equaled the mark Jackson set in 1993 on his way to becoming China’s first male Olympic track gold medalist in 2004.
“I have a long future and I want to get better step by step,” added Liu, who celebrates his 23rd birthday today.
Upon the record-breaking, EMS China sent prompt and sincere congratulations to Liu Xiang, image ambassador of EMS, for the great record, which inspired EMS to provide much faster, better and more reliable worldwide express services for all customers.

National Post Heads Meeting was held in Beijing during June 6-8, 2006. The meeting first summarized the general situations of EMS China over the past 5 months, during which the development of national postal business showed a growing momentum, the quality and efficiency of operations were enhanced a lot, and the overall postal capacity and service level were increased significantly.
On the meeting, Liu Andong, Postmaster, said that the second half of 2006 is very critical for the coming postal reform. He stressed to do well in the following fields: continue to push forward the postal reform; strengthen the development of express & logistics services; speed up the construction of core capability; and further enhance the overall managerial level.

The EMS Same-day Delivery Service has been formally introduced in the area of Pearl River Delta in Guangdong Province since May 30, 2006.
For the time being, this premium EMS service is offered during the business days among 6 cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Nanhai, Shunde, and Dongguan. EMS China promises that any EMS items posted or picked up before 12 o’clock will be delivered to the addressees on the same day. As a supplementary service for the Next-morning Delivery in Pearl River Delta area & Next-day Delivery in Guangdong Province, the Same-day Delivery will further provide the fastest and high value-added service for customers located in business buildings and large-scale markets.

China State Post Bureau and Nanjing Municipal Government have signed an agreement on building China Post’s express & logistics air hub in Lukou International Airport of Nanjing. The huge project will be completed by 2008, which will be the largest and most sophisticated express & logistics air hub in Asia.
The air hub will be composed of the freight terminal for postal night planes, the modernized sorting and distribution equipments, and the customs and security facilities. Upon completion, this hub will handle and distribute a large number of domestic & international EMS items arriving at night, and fulfill within 4 hours all the processes of loading, sorting, security check, and customs clearance of postal items.
Meanwhile, EMS China will synchronize the renovation and optimization of its national express network and interior handling processes to offer customers much faster and more reliable Next-day Express Services.
